I like the ambiguity of "..we argue / the number", which could, as I see it, refer to the number of bends in the road or the number of a house that "we" are due to visit. I see, thanks to Wiki, that there's a road in Oxfordshire that's known locally as 'The 13 Bends of Death'. Nice.

I'll leave it ambiguous then. The road in question is between Baslow and Bakewell in Derbyshire
