it works either way for me too, David....can't decide so well...but i perfer the first itself, i think

i was asking about the need for that apostrophe there...in 'its',

Hi Devika - thanks for that. I looked into the possessive apostrophe and I think you can go either way - with or without, but I will concede as the prevailing view seems to be without. My mother would have probably disagreed with you, though.

Yeah, I understand...its hard for them to agree, if they believe otherwise....

But I wonder, our British English schools have taught it to be without....And now its a common practice to use the apostrophe -- I was trying to clarify,

anyway...it's as it is :)
